The Kenya Paralympics team on Thursday blocked off a section of Thika Superhighway to demand their allowances.
The team returned this week from the fourth International Athletics Meeting held in Marrakech, Morocco where they harvested 42 medals, 11 gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze.
The team on Thursday sat across the highway for hours at the Garden City Mall area and brought traffic to a standstill. The resultant traffic jam extended to Roysambu and Muthaiga respectively.
This comes just a week after the national team that competed in the African Junior Athletics championships in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, also staged a sit-in in their hotel after the government failed to settle their allowances.
