Dortmund ‘end interest in Halstenberg’

Borussia Dortmund are no longer interested in signing Germany international wing-back Marcel Halstenberg from RB Leipzig, according to Kicker.

The 29-year-old has stalled on talks over a new contract with Leipzig amid reports of interest from Dortmund, however that is now siad to have cooled.

Halstenberg, who made 31 appearances for Leipzig last season and can also play in central defence, would only be able to move to Dortmund if they offload Nico Schulz, which is now looking less likely.

Bayern extend contracts of four young talents

Bayern Munich have confirmed four new contracts for a quartet of promising teenagers.

Eyup Aydin, 17, Mike Eberhart, 16, Aleksandar Pavlovic, 17, and Roman Reinelt, 18, have all penned new deals until summer 2023.

Reinelt has also been iommediately sent out on loan to German lower league side SSV Ulm for the 2021/22 season.

Man City ‘getting another top striker’ – Nmecha

Lukas Nmecha has severed ties with Manchester City this summer, and revealed the Premier League heavyweights are “getting another top striker”.

A new No 9 is being lined up, as raids on Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund for Harry Kane or Erling Haaland mooted, and Nmecha says that is part of the reason why he has decided to take on a new challenge in Germany.

He told Kicker: “I still had one year of contract. They’re getting another top striker, I don’t think my chances would have been very good there.”

Leeds United have completed the signing of Lewis Bate from Chelsea for £1.5 million.

The teenager has signed a three-year contract with the Yorkshire side, as he seeks first team football away from Stamford Bridge.

Bate, who made 20 appearances for Chelsea’s U23s in Premier League 2 last season, becomes Leeds’ fifth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Junior Firpo, Jack Harrison, Shaun McGurk and Amari Miller.
