Bayern out of race to sign Messi

Bundesliga giants can’t afford Barca legend

Bayern Munich cannot afford to join the bidding for Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, claims the club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

He told Tuttosport when asked if the Bavarians will enter the race for the Argentine: “No.”

Explaining that call, Rummenigge added: “We can’t pay a player of that size. It is not part of our policy and philosophy.

“Honestly, hearing that Messi could leave Barcelona makes me a little sad. Leo has written the history of that club and in my opinion he should end his career with the Blaugrana.

“There are internal and private aspects there that I don’t know about and that is why I will not interfere.”

Klopp unsure over Liverpool’s transfer funds

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted the coronavirus pandemic has made signing players a lot more complicated.

“Now, in corona times, you have to think five times before making a transfer because nobody knows what will happen after corona,” Klopp told Servus TV.

“We always have to pay attention to the financial aspect. Because we don’t know exactly how much money we will have available. Others seem to deal with it a little more positively when you look at Chelsea.

“There are a lot of interesting players out there but if someone is interesting for us I can’t say right now. But I am very happy with my team right now. If something transfer related will happen we have to see.”

Messi’s future tied to Suarez’s

The agent of Luis Suarez believes that both the Uruguay striker and Lionel Messi will take each other’s opinions into account when deciding life after Barcelona.

Messi and Suarez have struck up a strong friendship since the latter’s arrival at Camp Nou in 2014, initially forming two-thirds of the club’s famed MSN attacking line-up with Neymar prior to the Brazilian’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain.

As well as enjoying huge success on the pitch the pair and their families often holiday together, while new Barca coach Ronald Koeman’s decision to cut the Uruguayan from his plans allegedly weighed in Messi’s subsequent request to leave the Catalan club after 20 years.
