President Uhuru Kenyatta is back in the public eye after his many days ‘absence’ threw concerned Kenyans into a panic over his whereabouts.
The president has reemerged from his ‘hideout’ just 48 hours after Kenyans online embarked on a spirited ‘search mission’ under the hashtag #FindPresidentUhuru.
It seems the search was not in vain after all as State House posted the latest photo of the president on its official Twitter handle on Monday afternoon.
State House went on to explain that the photo was taken earlier in the day when the president signed into law the Health Amendment Bill of 2018 and Assumption of the Office of County Governor Bill.
The picture shows President Kenyatta, dressed in a white shirt, signing the two bills with Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, Solicitor General Ken Ogeto, Majority Leaders Kipchumba Murkomen (Senate) and Aden Duale (National Assembly) all looking on.

Earlier in the day, State House spokesperson, Kanze Dena, had responded to queries from concerned Kenyans by giving an assurance that the Head of State is ‘present’ and working on different matters.
Kanze, who blamed herself for communication breakdown between State House and Kenyans, also promised frequent updates from State House to media and Kenyans moving forward.
This is only the second time the president’s pictures are being shared on State House Twitter handle since his return from China about two weeks ago.
Since then, the president has kept an uncharacteristically low key which got Kenyans worried.
