Use same speed of impeaching me to fulfill gov’t promises, Gachagua tells Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has told President William Ruto to implement reforms and policies in government with the same speed used to impeach him.

Speaking during a funeral service at Kabare, Kirinyaga County, Gachagua exuded confidence that he brought the Coffee Bill 2023 that is before Parliament which sought to uplift the lives of coffee farmers across the country.

He noted that such bills should be treated with the same urgency as his impeachment motion, which he argued was hurried from the National Assembly and the Senate.

The former DP appealed to the Mt Kenya region to stick together and forge ahead in unison despite the tribulations.

“Let me remind you that God is still on the throne and He has never been defeated. I am proud that the people still have my back. Let me say, don’t be afraid, things will get better,” he remarked.

He also urged the State not to relent in the fight against alcoholism but to ensure that the vice is curtailed within the society.

“Tunauliza wale ambao wako sasa, ile kazi Gachagua alifanya miaka mbili ya kupigana na pombe, kuokoa vijana wetu, wacheni hiyo kazi isimame. Hawa vijana walikuwa wamepotea kwa pombe na sasa imeanza kurudi,” he noted.

“Wale ambao wakona nafasi ya kuhudumia wananchi, msirudishe hii pombe ndo kazi yangu ionekane bure. Si yeye mnaumiza, mnaumiza watoto wengine.”
