Kenya Airways loss jumps to Sh7.55bn

Kenya Airways #ticker:KQ net loss widened by 17.76 percent for the full year ended December 2018 as higher costs offset a jump in revenue.

KQ as the airline is known by its international code, made a net loss of Sh7.55 billion in the period from Sh6.41 billion a year earlier.

The company’s revenue rose sharply by 41.32 percent largely driven by more passenger bookings to Sh114.18 billion from Sh80.7 billion a year earlier.

It’s total operating costs jumped 43.96 percent to Sh114.8 billion from Sh79.7 billion a year earlier.
