Holidays are amazing for loads of reasons but one thing almost always present are those sales! A lot of my favorite brands and shops use this as an opportunity to offer further reductions, BOGO events and more. I am a huge fan of online window shopping and waiting for the opportune moment, so I love taking advantage of holiday sales to finally get that full price item I have been lusting for at a discount. Labor Day Sales in particular are a favorite! Not only can you score some summer items majorly marked down, but you can also scoop up some goodies that are going to help you transition your wardrobe for the season. Here are some of the things I will be purchasing from the best of this year’s Labor Day Sales.
Sweaters & Knitwear
Of course you are going to need to stock up on some new sweaters for the fall season, so this is an optimal time to grab some basic knits, as well as some more trendy pieces. A collection of cardigan sets, polo necks and chunky sweaters can be worn throughout the season with a multitude of different bottoms and accessories. However, do not be afraid to invest in some color and pattern too – especially if you can snag them for less than full price!
Maybe you want to take advantage of this year’s Labor Day sales to store some key pieces for the rest of summer. There are so many cute summer dresses featured on these end-of-season sales. But you can also hunt for dresses that can carry you into the fall season as well. Look for midi to maxi length dresses in darker colors and patterns so they easily transition. These can easily be paired with accessories like leather jackets, booties and sweaters to be more autumnal.
No fall wardrobe is complete without at least a few pairs of jeans to carry you into the season and beyond! You can bet there are loads of different styles and options on sale. Classic high-waisted skinny styles are still relevant but the trend these days definitely leans toward a relaxed, straight leg fit so this is an opportune time to try out the trend! You may even want to invest in a few different washes too. I love classic blue but a darker grey or black denim looks killer in fall.
Coats and outerwear can be quite expensive, so this is something I always prefer to catch on sale when I can. I love the transitional period between summer and fall because the coldness slowly creeps in. You can totally get away with wearing some lighter jackets and even layering when necessary. Labor Day sales are great for being able to grab a few jackets you can mix with different outfits. My fall must have coats this year are definitely an oversized leather blazer, classic denim coat, and longline trench coat.
Lastly, do not forget to shop the accessories on sale! For me, I am definitely eyeing up some new boots to add to my collection. I think shoes are a really great category to invest in because they do go through so much wear and tear. I’m loving square-toe styles this season and highly recommend grabbing some better quality boots so they last you multiple seasons and years.
