Mr Itumbi was reported missing on Thursday evening after he was allegedly kidnapped in Thindigua area on Kiambu Road.

The alleged abductors also grabbed Mr Itumbi’s phone even as he shouted and protested before speeding off.

The incident happened two kilometres from Thindigua Police Post and police immediately sent out a signal.

He was found hours later, in the wee hours of Friday morning, according to his family and associates who indicated that he had been beaten.

According to his brother David, he was found at Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital. He also told his family that he was arrested and tortured.

Other sources say he was found by a taxi driver in Lucky Summer area, Kasarani, and rushed to Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital.

He is currently receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital.

His friends and family have speculated that the alleged abduction was politically motivated.
